Celebrating our 150th Anniversary in 2016

This church was founded in 1866 as the Wacousta Episcopal Church with a "circuit riding" preacher.  Many clergy members have built our church upon the foundation of Jesus Christ.  Over the years, five physical buildings have housed the faithful here at 9180 W. Herbison Road.

With this anniversary, we will be remembering, rejoicing and rededicating.

Here is our year-long schedule of events:

In January, a banner to commerate the anniversary will be dedicated.
In April, we will dedicate an anniversary quilt which will depict the history of our church buildings.
In May, join us for a Ladies Tea on May 14 and a special Men's Breakfast on May 21.
On June 19 there will be a family picnic at Heritage Park.
On July 17, there will be an ice cream social with entertainment by the Grand Ledge Bums.
On Aug. 18, our Farmers Market will commerate the anniversary with a birthday celebration theme.  A  outdoor patio and firepit, built as an Eagle Scout project by an area Boy Scout, will be dedicated.
On Sept. 11, a peace pole will be unveiled with a special ceremony in the Memorial Garden
On Sept. 22, everyone was invited to a very special catered dinner at the Grand Ledge Opera House.  Here, you can enjoy a video which has been in the works all year interviewing members of the church.

As we prepare to remember, rejoice and rededicate, let us praise God together for our devoted foremothers and forefathers, our hard working brothers and sisters of today, and future generations that will continue to carry the Good News of Jesus Christ to others for the transformation of the world.
